Electronic Arts will not be on the show floor at E3 2016

EA will have new approach at E3 this year.

Electronic Arts has announced that they will be staging off stage events at this year’s E3 that will be geared towards fans instead of having a booth at the convention.

EA will be hosting a public, three day offsite event called EA Play, which the event will be held from June 12 through June 14 at Club Nokia near the Los Angeles Convention Center. EA will also be holding a joint event in London on June 12.

A representative from EA said, “Our players will have access to the games on Monday,” the rep said. “We will open up the event to the industry on Tuesday, allowing those who are in town for E3 to see our games and join the experience (via Polygon).”

Furthermore, EA has changed the time of its pre-keynote June 12 at 1pm PT. The company also announced that they will also be giving up their booth in the south hall as well.

EA’s space at E3 is one of the largest at the event and has been in the south hall for years. There has been no announcement about who will be taking over the space, or the Monday time slot at the convention.
