Fortnite headed to mobile devices with cross-platform multiplayer

Fortnite Battle Royale is headed to iOS and Android. A beta test will begin on March 12 for iOS, and you can sign-up now at

Due to a partnership with Sony, Fortnite will be cross-play between PlayStation 4, PC, iOS, and Android, leaving behind Xbox One, at least for now. This will function as a one-way opt in. Mobile players can choose to be placed into matches on other platforms, but console and PC players cannot place themselves into mobile queues. Player progression towards unlocks will carry other between these platforms as well.

Epic Games refers to this as “the future of games. The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.”
