New Gears of War 4 update aims to shame quitters

The Microsoft owned development studio, The Coalition, has released a new Gears of War 4 update which aims to shame those who quit matches prematurely.

According to a forum post at the Gears of War official website, the word “QUIT” will be displayed as the score of an individual who dropped out of a ranked match. “This should help tracking and reporting platers who quit games early via the Guide”, says the forum post.

Additionally, The Coalition means to implement a patch in the future which ultimately penalizes quitters by reducing the amount of credits from said individual’s account.

Another thing added in the new Gears of War 4 update is the means to address illegitimate speed-runs in Horde mode, more specifically, matches that take place on the map Blood Drive. “While all remaining speed-run tactics are currently considered fair game by the team,” the post states, “the latest Blood Drive methods were deemed far too manipulative to be left alone.”
