The Last of Us: Part II has been delayed until further notice, developer Naughty Dog confirmed today in a message posted online.
While some may attribute the delay to the COVID-19 virus, which effects the human respiratory system among other parts of the body, Naughty Dog did not explicitly mention the viral infection within their statement. Instead, attribution for the delay went to things like bug fixes and logistics.
“However, even with us finishing the game,” the statement reads, “we were faced with the reality that due to logistics beyond out control, we couldn’t launch The Last of Us Part II to our satisfaction.”
The Last of Us Part II has already seen a delay twice before, with the most recent being May 29, and we have yet to learn when the next installment in the series will launch on the PlayStation 4.
