Having already scuttled holding a press conference during E3 in favor of Nintendo Direct presentations, those too will be abandoned this year in favor of Nintendo Treehouse: Live. This event will stream gameplay of the upcoming Wii U The Legend of Zelda, which will be the only game Nintendo focuses on at E3 2016. As previously announced, the NX will still have no presence at E3.
Nintendo Treehouse: Live will be hosted by Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, and include commentaries by Nintendo developers.
A press release dated today calls this installment of Zelda “a clean break from the conventions of previous games, removing boundaries that forced players to follow a set path and introducing new gameplay that has not been experienced in previous games in the series.”
