Youtuber, YourMKArcadeSource has discovered hidden menus in the arcade versions of the original Mortal Kombat trilogy nearly twenty years after their release.
These new menus were designed personally by Mortal Kombat creator, Ed Boon, and are displayed as EJB menus, which are named after Boon.
The Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat 2 menus contain, character endings, which allow players to input their initials into leaderboards, run diagnostics, and coin bookkeeping. The MK 2 cabinet also contains a hello option that is speculated to be a list of people Boon wanted to thank, the first name on the list is mom.
Mortal Kombat 3 has a larger array of menu options which include the unlocking of hidden characters, as well as, receiving instant demonstrations of fatalities that are usually reserved for players who beat the game on Master difficulty. There is also a feature called Penacho/Miller that unlocks an incredibly difficult version of Galaga.
At this moment it is unclear if these menus are in other versions of the cabinet, or home console equivalents.
